Man arrested for murder, kidnapping in Clovis

A man who is accused of kidnapping a baby and killing her mother and another woman and shooting a 5-year-old in Clovis, New Mexico was arrested in Abilene.Alek Isaiah Collins, 26, is charged with two counts of murder, one count of kidnapping and two counts of child abuse.
On May 4, the Dimmitt Volunteer Fire Department6-man Pumper Team competed in the PFFMA games, placing third. Five of the six team members had never competed before. Firefighters competing include Jose Salas, Brandon Ontiveros, Lupe Gonzales, Braydon Stephens, Ben Elmore, and Carlos Escamilla

Committee report confirms power pole sparked deadly wildfire

A Texas House committee confirmed reports that a decayed utility pole that broke sparked Texas’ largest wildfire in history.
Nazareth FFA Chloe Birkenfeld received the Dann Gunn Memorial Scholarship. The Dann Gunn Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established by Andrew Dorow and Tatum Gunn Dorow in 2017. The scholarship is awarded to students studying Agricultural Education with a Teacher’s Certification in the Department of Agricultural Education and Communications. Preference is given to non-traditional students with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
