Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for September, 3.4 percent more than in September 2022.

County approves Hunger Action Month

The Castro County Commissioners Court at the Monday meeting approved September to be designated in a 2023 Hunger Action Month Proclamation. The proclamation was signed by County Judge Mandy Gfeller.

Chili cookoff set for Sept. 30

It is time to get out the recipes and be prepared to compete. The 11th Annual Highway to Hell*O*Terlingua chili cookoff is scheduled for Sept. 30 and will be held at Dimmitt Recreation and Country Club.

Bobcats fall to Mustangs
