Castro 4-H competes in District 2 Record Book

Castro County 4-H Club had several members place high with their records book for 2022. The District 2 record book judging was held in Lubbock on July 13.

WTAMU leads study into Palo Duro Canyon heat

According to a West Texas A&M University press release, some of their researchers along with the National Weather Service are leading the study on the hazards of extreme heat at Palo Duro Canyon.

Castro County Community Calendar

Community Calendar July 28-30 Hart Days. Ms. Hart Pageant on Thursday evening. Friday/Saturday events include cornhole toss, horseshoe tournament, three-on-three basketball tourney. Saturday events: parade at 9 a.m. followed by car show; Outlaw Cook-off at noon; Burnout Contest at 2 p.m.
Nazareth FFA brought home the Golden Horizon Award for Division 1 in Texas. The Naz chapter is under the leadership of Austin Heck who continues to guide students to a successful outcome each year, with the assistance of many parents in the community.

Nazareth FFA earned a top award this past week, being ranked the top FFA Chapter in Texas in Division I. Nazareth FFA students attended the 94th Texas FFA Convention in Fort Worth and had a successful trip as well as having a lot of fun.
