Light Came In

We lost our power for several hours during a storm. I missed television and major appliances, but I missed light most of all. Saul (‘Paul’ after God transformed his life) went from spiritual darkness to blinding light.

Castro County 4-Hers compete at District 2 contests

Castro County 4-H Club horse judging teams attended the District 2 Horse Judging Contest at WTAMU on April 22 Ṫhe club had eight juniors on two teams competing. Team #1 placed second overall (2nd in placings and 3rd in reasons).

Hart Elementary Robotics Team and Hart Middle School Robotics Team competed in the 2022 GEAR (Get Excited About Robotics) competition on April 23 at Lubbock High School.

Naz students earn ticket to UIL state events

Nazareth UIL academic competitors had a solid day at Regionals/South Plains College, with several first, second and third place individuals qualifying to compete at state. Additionally, there were some first-place teams that qualified and teams placing second that could earn a wildcard.

The Dimmitt Middle School Beginner Band, under the direction of MaryAnn Spurlock and John Zalman, received a First Division rating at the Bushland Band Festival this past Saturday. The First Division is the highest rating a band can receive. There were 14 bands participating in the event.

Nazareth High School seniors Makenzy Corrales and Dayson Schacher were among the top 25 scholarship applicants who will have their applications advance to state. The Texas FFA will award more than 140 scholarships to outstanding graduating seniors through its academic scholarship program.
