Castro 4-H competes in District Food Challenge

Castro County 4-H’ers competed at the District Food Challenge on Monday with five teams and 17 youth in the contest. In all, the District competition had 480-plus youth and 130 teams competing on five food challenges teams. Each group received a bag of ingredients and made a dish.

West Texas A&M University’s horse judging teams successfully closed out its season with high rankings at national and world championships this month. One WTAMU team was named champion at the National Reining Championship on Nov.

As girls basketball season begins, the Texas Girls Coaches Association released its Nov. 8 poll for rankings, 1A-6A on Monday. The Nazareth Swiftettes are ranked number two in Class 1A after coming in as state champion runners up this past season, behind Dodd City, who won the state title.
