Governor Greg Abbott today announced that Texas Instruments (TI) has selected Sherman as the location for their next 300-mm fabs, with potential of up to four fabs on the site to meet demand over time. TI is a Dallas-based, publicly traded semiconductor company that manufactures processing chips.

DISD salutes veterans at ceremony

Dimmitt ISD held its annual Veterans Day program this past Thursday at the high school gym to honor area servicemen who served in the various branches of the military.
Krisse Bruton was in charge of organizing the event with Mrs. Zalman’s culinary class helping provide food for a reception.

Hegar Distributes $1.1B in monthly sales tax revenue

Naz, Dimmitt compete at state XC meet

Cross Country runners from Nazareth High School and Dimmitt High School competed at the Texas State XC meet on Nov. 5 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Dimmitt’s Azariah Gonzales placed 29th with a time of 17:00.7 in a field of 151 3A runners.

A golf tournament to benefit Crystal Carrasco was held on Oct. 23 at Dimmitt Recreation Country Club.
The benefit was organized by Esmeralda Rivera, Ladies Golf and Dimmitt Recreation.
Carrasco is currently battling breast cancer and has a long journey ahead of her.
