The Nazareth Swiftettes competed in the Whataburger Tournament in the Blue Girls Division in Fort Worth held Dec. 28-Dec. 30.

Other teams in the division included Argyle Liberty Christian, Bishop, Bridgeport, Canyon, Dodd City, Gunter, Little River Academy, Maypearl, Midlothian Heritage, Peaster, Ponder, Seminole, Sunnyvale, Tuscola Jim Ned and Wall.

The Swiftettes were matched up against Argyle Liberty Christian in the first round, losing that round, and then faced the winner of the Peaster/Seminole game on Wednesday.

The Nazareth Swiftettes fell to the Liberty Christian Lady Warriors, 59-39, in the first round.

The Swiftettes shot for 16/39 (41%) field goals, hitting 4/12 (33%) 3-pointers; 3/5 (60%) free throws; collected 15 rebounds and nine assists.

Top shots for the Swiftettes were MaKenzy Corrales with 11 points, two defensive rebounds, one assist and one foul; Iris Schilderink, 10 points, one offensive and defensive rebound and one foul; and Harley Gerber, 10 points, one defensive rebound, two assists, three steals and one foul. Contributing shooter was Addie Dyer with eight points, two steals and two fouls.

Tatum Peterson delivered two offensive rebounds, five defensive rebounds, five assists, one steal and had one foul; Caroline Myrick, two offensive rebounds, one assist and two fouls; and Bliss Betzen, one defensive rebound.
