The Dimmitt Economic Development Corporation has begun work on their downtown mural project. The D.E.D.C began the process with the project months ago and received unanimous approval and support from the City Council.

Castro County 4-H BBQ lunch set for Oct. 19

The Castro County 4-H Club will be holding its Brown Bag BBQ Lunch fundraiser on Oct. 19. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out and will include a BBQ sandwich, drink, chips and cookie. Free citywide delivery is available for order of 8 or more if placed by Friday, Oct. 15.

Nazareth FFA members Owen Dyer, Bradyn Bullard, Tell Bagley, Caroline Myrick, Jack Welps, Jett Ramaekers, Will Young and Tanner Wethington participated in the Calf Scramble at the Tri-State Fair, each bringing home a scholarship for catching a calf.

DHS, HHS compete at Plainview XC meet

Dimmitt and Hart XC teams competed at the Plainview Invitation Cross Country Meet held at Running Waters Draw Regional Park this past Saturday. Divisions were split between 1A-2A; 3A-4A; and 5A-6A. The junior varsity competitors ran in all-inclusive divisions.

Bobcats fall to Eagles, 56-6

Dimmitt had a tough homecoming game this past Friday, falling to Lubbock Roosevelt Eagles 56-6. The Eagles got scoring underway in the first quarter with a touchdown on a 4-yard run and kick, putting them in the lead, 7-0.

TTU begins search for MSU president

The Texas Tech University System (TTU System) Board of Regents and Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., named a search committee on Sept. 16 to assist in finding the next president of Midwestern State University (MSU Texas).
