Memorial golf tourney draws 36 teams

The Don Cornett Memorial Golf Tournament drew 36 teams to battle for top honors. Held at Dimmitt Recreation, teams got underway in the chilly, windy morning and continued as the temps rose to 93 degrees. Players were treated to a meal served by MJ’s Nine Iron Grill on Saturday night.

DMS Chess team competed in the Communities in Schools Chess Tournament on April 30. Of the 105 students, DMS had several students within the top 50 percentile (Zayden Reyes, Juan Cruz, Joshua Seaton and Keenan Hernandez; overall Alex Hernandez placed 3rd.

Kleman clenches 3200M state title

Two Nazareth track runners traveled to Austin to compete in the UIL Track Championships held at Mike A Myers Stadium in Austin this past weekend. Senior Emma Kleman came home with the state championship title in the 3200-meter run with a 11:33.
