Amazon warehouse coming to Amarillo

The Amarillo EDC announced the new 1-million square foot Amazon warehouse is officially coming to the city early next year. It will create over 500 new full-time jobs in the community with a starting wage of $15 an hour.

China buys 45.3M bushel of corn

Private exporters reported the sale of 1.15 million tonnes of U.S. corn for delivery to China by the end of August, according to the USDA. The corn was worth $251 million based on futures prices in Chicago. It was the largest corn sale to China since one totaling 2.108 million tonnes on Jan. 29.

TPWD accepting summer internship applications

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is now taking applications for summer internships in all divisions, including law enforcement, wildlife, state parks, infrastructure, communications, coastal fisheries, and inland fisheries.

Despite a minimal amount of rainfall and snow in February and March, the Castro County Commissioners Court instituted a countywide burn ban on Monday. County Judge Carroll Gerber said the burn ban will be effect for 90 days or until commissioners determine it is safe to discontinue it.
