The Fourth of July is much more than a day celebrated with family cookouts, fireworks, parades, big events and a day off from work.
Michael Pantoja, former Castro County Chief Deputy, was sworn in as county treasurer on Tuesday. Pantoja was appointed by the Commissioners Court to serve the remainder Elaine Flynt term of office after she announced she would be retiring. She was recently honored by colleagues, friends and county officials at a retirement party.
