We would be remiss here at Rhoads Memorial Library if we did not mention the passing of Marie Howell on May 24, 2025, at the age of 86. She worked in our facility for 39 years during which time she served as library director from 1999 through September 2012.

Food Producers Field Day set for July 23

Ogallala Commons (OC) is collaborating with the Texas A& M AgriLife Extension Service in Swisher County to conduct a Local Food Producers Field Day on July 23. The field day is presented by Ogallala Commons with grant support from the Amarillo Area Foundation.

Giles indicted for election fraud in Randall County

The chairman of the Randall County Republican Party has been accused of election fraud after being indicted on June 25. Kelly Giles, 64, was booked into the Randall County Jail.

Trump proposes FEMA cuts

In the wake of the recent flood disaster in Texas, President Donald Trump is still proposing eliminating the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
