The Nazareth Swifts baseball team won their Bi-District round in the playoffs and will advance to Area. The Swifts beat Bordon County in both games, winning the first game 14-1, and the second game 14-0. The Swifts will face Booker in the first Area game on Thursday at 6 p.m. Game 2 and 3 are tentatively set for Friday at West Texas High. Time to be announced.

Castro County 4-H Spencer Acker and Remington Meador recently the Summerfi eld-Dameron Corner historical marker as a part of the Restoring History: One Marker at a Time. The will compete for a chance to compete at the competition. During the past two years, they have restored about half the historical markers in Castro County thus far.

We have such an attractive, sturdy building serving as Rhoads Memorial Library, but the 52-yearold facility is beginning to show some signs of aging. The double door on the front is one example, as the easy-to-open south door has worn out and is locked.

The Texas Senate gave tentative approval to a bill that would get rid of the gap between early voting and voting day. Bill author and Sen. Bob Hall said that much of the controversy over the security and integrity of the vote stems from increasingly complex procedures.
