Best of the Wurst: 53rd Nazareth German Festival upcoming July 11
'OOMPAH' SOUND-- The Havlak “oompah” Polka Band was brought in from Rowena, Texas to perform at the first couple of Nazareth German Festivals in 1973 and 1974 and stirred the crowd in attendance to dance.

The big Nazareth German Festival, none the wurst for wear, marks its 53rd observance Saturday, July 11 with a full day of activities at the Nazareth Community Hall and in the heart of the village.
The Nazareth German Festival was established in August of 1973 as part of the multi-faceted Castro County Roundup that spanned August 11-19 marking the 82nd birthday of Castro County.
