As of pres time Friday, the Hereford Whitefaces led their best-of-three Area Playoff series against El Paso Riverside one game to zero. The Whitefaces won the first contest 4-3. The series was being played in Monahans with games two and three (if necessary) scheduled for Friday.

HPD arrests man after golf course pursuit

On Monday, May 4th, 2026 at approximately 11:00 AM, officers from the Hereford Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a tan in color GMC pickup in the 400 block of Barrett St for failing to signal intent to turn and expired registration.

HISD bond fails by thin margin, HEDC measure passes

By a whisker thin margin, the Hereford Independent School District Proposition A to build a new Hereford High School at an anticipated cost of $150 million was voted down 713 to 706 in the May 2 general election.The margin of defeat for the school bond tax hike was a razor thin 50.25 percent to 49.
