A THREE-PEAT--Ross Gomez of Post caught the lone Legacy Lunker bass to come from Lake Alan Henry in the 2026 ShareLunker season, a 14.74 pound 25 incher on January 22.Gomez’s catch became the 32nd all-time Legacy Class Lunker for Alan Henry and put the water body on the board for the second year in a row. Ironically, the Legacy Lunker fish Gomez caught in January was the exact same Legacy Class fish he had caught on two previous occasions in almost the same location.

If you are from the Panhandle/ South Plains and have hopes of catching a Legacy Class largemouth bass during the Toyota ShareLunker program collection season, it seems that the closest to home that you have a chance of doing that is on Lake Alan Henry near Post.
VET SCIENCE COMPETITORS— The Hereford FFA Veterinary Science CDE team competed at the Area 1 Contest recently. They placed 13th among 48 teams in the Area and were third in Littlefield District in a highly competitive contest. Team members are Nubia Soltero, Adali Arias, Emma Arredondo and Stella Hewitt.

April 10 was a fantastic day for the Mighty Maroon Band. The Honors Band and Symphonic Band each earned a Sweepstakes trophy for Superior ratings at the UIL Evaluation which was held at West Plains High School. The Concert Band earned Excellent ratings in Concert and Sightreading.

STILL ROAD WORTHY--Mike Harrell and his classic 1960 Chevy pickup are both still road worthy and will likely share some traveling adventures after Harrell closes a local institution--Mike's Auto Repair at the end of April. He rebuilt the pickup's motor and added an air conditioner that he installed himself. He's already driven the rig as far as Houston and back. (Photo by Jim Steiert)
