The Mighty Maroon Marching Band welcomed incoming freshmen students last week, and on Monday the entire band met up to begin summer band practice.

Hoping to keep passing on the fly fishing tradition

If I never do another thing right in fishing, I did pass on the tradition and introduced our daughter Jaime and both of our grandkids to catching nice rainbow trout on a fly rod.

What the return of New World screwworm means for human health

Reports of the New World screwworm returning to the United States have raised concern. Driven northward from Central America and expanding across our southern borders, this parasitic fly has officially reemerged after a 44-year absence, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Local institution KPAN radio will sign off on August 4

A fixture of early morning news and weather, volleyball, basketball and Friday night football broadcasts in Hereford Texas, USA will be signing off from the local scene, leaving a void in news, sports, weather, local obituaries and local opinion and color coverage.

Flooding batters Hill Country once again A massive amount of rain once again engulfed the Hill Country, causing widespread flooding in several counties, including Uvalde, Kerr, Kendall and Gillespie. At least two fatalities were reported near Comfort and Uvalde.More than 270 people were rescued.

Former Lady Herd standout Dodd leads HHS volleyball camp

Tradition has always been an important part of Lady Whiteface Volleyball, and last week, that tradition came full circle as former Lady Whiteface volleyball player Darcy Dodd returned to Hereford to lead a team camp.
