HEDC sales tax receipts up slightly in April

Sales tax receipts to the Hereford Economic Development Corporation for April were up slightly from the same month in Fiscal year 2024-2025 but were down from March. The FY 25-26 April total was $83,690, compared to $81,647 for April of FY 24-25.

Pint-sized fisherman wins Texas Junior Angler Spring big fish award

A whopping 283 kids and accompanying kids at heart turned out for the latest edition of the Texas Junior Anglers community fishing day in Hereford May 16 at Josserand Aquatic Park. Hereford’s Texas Junior Anglers program is the longest-running in Texas, marking its 32nd year with the May 16 event.

CELEBRATING 125 YEARS—The Hereford Masonic Lodge No. 849 is celebrating its 125th anniversary. Grand Master Jimmy R. Rumsey visited the lodge to present a 125 Year Certificate on May 1 in a ceremony that attracted members from all over the area.

SWEARING IN CEREMONY--Newly elected and re-elected city commissioners were sworn in during a special city commission meeting on May 11 at City Hall. Taking the oath of office from left are incumbent City Commissioner Place 2 Angie Alonzo, newly elected At-Large Commissioner Place 6 Margaret Del Toro, newly elected City Commissioner Place 4 Jeremy Lopez, and incumbent At-Large Commissioner Place 5 James Stow. They were sworn in by City Secretary Franchesca Jimenez.
