New books, courtesy of a $1,000 grant awarded recently to Rhoads Memorial Library, are displayed by Gaye Reily, left, and Sulema Oltivero of the local library. The 72 books are for ages pre-K through fifth grade. The grant was provided by Texas Panhandle Library Reading Initiative for Young Children.
If you missed registration for Summer Reading Club here at Rhoads Memorial Library, do not fret. There is still time for Castro County youngsters to sign up for the annual event, where prizes may be earned by fulfilling a few reading requirements. When children continue reading in July, they will be entered into a drawing for various grand prizes.
