Luis Perez, a junior at Dimmitt High School, won first place in the piano competition of the 2026 UIL State Solo and Ensemble contest held May 25, 2026, at the UT Austin Butler School of Music.

MASTEC RENEWABLE PARTNERSHIP WITH DISD MasTec Renewables is constructing a new wind farm north of Dimmitt in Easter. They recently partnered with Dimmitt ISD and Kendra Cantrell, Communities in Schools Site Coordinator to help with the Snack Pak 4 Kids Program.
