The Hereford Whitefaces claimed the Bi-District Championship trophy topping Andrews in three games in Littlefield. Hereford dropped the first game of the series and then rallied for two wins on Saturday. Senior Kalub Ramirez got the first Saturday win with 14 strikeouts. The Herd won the game 7-0.
Two Hereford Whitefaces have advanced to the UIL State Track and Field Championships Thursday, May 14 in Austin. Izak Dominguez (left) won the 110-meter hurdles event with a time of 13.87 seconds at the Regional Track Meet in Lubbock setting a Region I-4A record. Brix Machen (below) cleared a height of 6-feet, 8-inches to win second place at the Region Meet and qualify for state.

HISD bond fails by thin margin, HEDC measure passes

By a whisker thin margin, the Hereford Independent School District Proposition A to build a new Hereford High School at an anticipated cost of $150 million was voted down 713 to 706 in the May 2 general election.The margin of defeat for the school bond tax hike was a razor thin 50.25 percent to 49.
