It was a simple book-keeping error.
We were getting married in Syracuse, NY and planning a move to Mississippi (where Norm had been hired to work at WDDT, Greenville). Norm forgot to balance his check book in all the excitement of the wedding ceremony and move preparations.
Maybe he could blame the memory lapse on sleep deprivation; he’d been working the midnight-6am shift...
