Avian Bird Flu precautions issued for Hereford area
SUSCEPTIBLE SORTS--Diminutive cackling geese such as this one that are common on the Hereford Aquatic Park Pond are particularly susceptible to avian flu currently making the rounds. Exercise caution if you find goose carcasses or encounter wild geese that don't flee from humans as they normally do.
You may have been strolling at the Hereford Aquatic Center pond recently, or just driven up close for a look at the geese, and noticed that some birds didn’t flee. Perhaps you noticed a dead goose either on the pond shoreline, or on the surrounding landscape.
