Clarence George III 1945-2025

Clarence Walter George III (Dubby), 80, of Dimmitt passed away peacefully surrounded by his family December 18, 2025.

Dubby was born April 2, 1945, in Plainview, Texas. He was the firstborn to Clarence Walter (Dub) George, Jr and Bobby Jean (Hollister) George. He was then joined by his sister Patty, brothers Larry and Danny and baby sister Kathy.

After high school, Dubby worked in various agriculture- based businesses in Dimmitt and surrounding communities. During this time, he also became the proud father of Greg and Sharon.

In 1970, Dubby moved his family to Virgina Beach, Virginia to begin a career in residential construction. While living in Virginia, his son Jack was born.

After moving back to Dimmitt, Dubby met Pauline Fetsch from Hereford, and they were married on November 5, 1973. They welcomed a son, Danny, in 1977.

Dubby also had his real estate license, following the tradition of his grandfather, “Scooter” and uncles Jimmy George and Jack George.

Dubby and Pauline owned and operated Video Magic for several years and he enjoyed visiting with the customers. The kids especially appreciated him giving them a quarter for the giant gumball machine.

Throughout his life, Dubby enjoyed golfing, playing cards and restoring cars and pickups. He loved spending time with his family and friends. There were many trips to Vegas. You know what they say about what happens in Vegas, but if you asked, he would probably tell you.

He continued his work in construction and built his last residential project in1983. In 2001, he and Pauline made that very house their home and that is where he continued to live until his last days. There were many memories made in that home, but in his final moments, Dubby was already talking about building a new home for his family in Heaven.

In September 2005, he experienced “The Walk to Emmaus,” and renewed his commitment and reignited his love for his Heavenly Father, his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his mighty Counselor Holy Spirit, which changed the course of the rest of his life.

Dub is survived by his devoted wife, Pauline, his sisters Patty Summers and Kathy and Guy Warren of Dimmitt, his children Greg George, Sharon and Myles Thomason, and Danny George of Lubbock, Jack and Heather George of Ocala, Florida, his grandchildren Tanner and Lucy George of Ocala, Florida, Aimee George, Carson Thomason and Hudson Thomason of Lubbock, and great grandchildren Jack and Daniel George of Ocala, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dub and Bobby, and his brothers Danny and Larry.

In lieu of flowers, if you would like to honor the legacy of Dubby, the family asks that a donation be made to First United Methodist Church or First Baptist Church of Dimmitt.
