Monica was born on March 19, 1977, in Hereford, Texas, to Peter Joseph Moll and Bernice Annabelle (Garcia) Bates. She attended local Hereford schools and graduated from Hereford High School in 1995.

Monica dedicated 20 years of her professional life as the office manager for the Hernandez Law Firm Amarillo Branch. In 2017, she married Raynea Garcia, and together they built a joyful and loving life.

Cookie found joy in shopping, savoring her cup of ice and lime salt, and spending time with her puppies. She was known for her strong Godly faith, love for Jesus, and giving Him all the glory. Monica was cherished for her heart of gold, her generosity, and her willingness to check in on family and friends. Five years ago, she and her sisters began an annual “sisters’ trip,” a tradition she treasured, especially as she loved the beach.

Monica’s greatest passion was her family, particularly her grandchildren, who were the center of her world as was her grandmother, her “Queen”. Her devotion to her family and friends was evident in everything she did. Monica’s beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and caring heart have left a lasting impact and will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her.

Those left to cherish her memories are her mother, Bernice Bates and her husband Billy of Hereford; her husband, Raynea Garcia of Hart; her children, Zack Castillo of Hereford, Kryslynn Valdez of Lubbock, and Lauren Valdez (C.J.) Carrasco of Hart, Joshua Garcia and Devin Garcia both of Hart; her siblings, Ruby De La Cruz of Hereford, Sarah Morales (Michael) of Amarillo, Sharon Bartelson (Aaron) of Flower Mound, and Brittnie Barela (Diego) of Canyon; four grandchildren, Aiden Castillo, Alora Carrasco, Cason and Emry Garcia; four nieces and four nephews. Cookie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Rosa Garcia and Pedro and Luzmilla Moll; her father, Peter Joseph Moll; her grandchildren, Alora Rose and Graylyn Jace Carrasco; her niece, Callista Rose; and her cousin, Mitzi Amar Delgado.
