Touchstone

Jay Lee Touchstone, son of Samuel Iris Touchstone and Edna Ann (Davis) Touchstone, was born in Tuscola, Texas on Nov 12, 1925, and departed this life Dec. 4, 2024, in Dimmitt, Texas, at the age of 99 years.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home with Coby Gilbreath officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral Jay Lee Touchstone moved to Dimmittin 1952 and was a longtime resident of Dimmitt. He enlisted in the United States Army after graduation and was a veteran of WWII.

After serving in the Army, he began farming in Castro County and farmed all his life up until his retirement. Jay Lee married Reba Nell Swinson on Aug. 2, 1964, in Las Vegas Nevada and they spent many happy years together. Jay Lee was a very respected and quiet man within the community but always had a sense of humor.

Jay Lee is survived by his brother, Truman Touchstone of Houston, Texas; nephews, Kyle Touchstone of Ft. Worth, Texas, Tobin Touchstone and wife Caroline of Tucson, Arizona, Todd Touchstone of Orlando, Florida, and Blake West of Miami, Forida; nieces, Tricia Campbell and husbandScott of Grapevine, and Beth Miles and husband Scott of Denver, Colorado; great-nephews, Tanner-Touchstone, Ty Touchstone, Trey Touchstone, Raymond Touchstone, Samuel Touchstone, TobinTouchstone Jr, Conner Campbell, and Cliff Campbell; great-nieces, Sara Yorko, FlorenceTouchstone, and Tara Bennett, daughterin- law, Barbara Hammaker and husband Gary ofLeander, Texas; granddaughters, Cassandra (Sandy) Howard Albarado and husband Scott ofArnaudville, Louisiana, and Christi Howard Walters and husband Tigh of Cedar Park, Texas; great-granddaughter, Kimberley Payton Walters of Cedar Park, Texas;, along with numerous great-greatnieces and nephews.

Jay Lee is preceded in death by his wife, Reba Nell Touchstone; stepson, Calvin J Howard III; sister-in-law, Betty Touchstone; sisters, Maxine Childers and Merle Franklin; brother-in-law, Don Franklin; and nephew, Truett Childers.
