Zane Ellison, 81 of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025.
Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, March 4, at 10:30 a.m. at West lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. King Burney officiating. Services are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Zane Ellison was born on November 11, 1943, to Albert J. Earnest Ellison and Dora Lee (Layton) Ellison in Slaton, Texas.
Zane grew up in Crosbyton, Texas and graduated from Crosbyton High School where he met his future wife. He and Rita Carole were married on Oct. 6, 1962, in Crosbyton. They moved to Dimmitt in 1976 from Muleshoe where he owned and operated Muleshoe Auto Parts. He then purchased the Parts Haus in Dimmitt which he owned and operated up until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ.
Zane was an avid fisherman while also enjoying hunting, playing golf and playing dominoes with his friends.
Zane is survived by his two sons, Troy Dale Ellison and wife Kim of Dimmitt, and Michael Shane Ellison and wife Jennifer of Austin; six grandchildren, Ashton Ray Ellison, Kaden Chad Ellison, Adrian Lemons and husband Dawson, Sara Kayleen Perez and husband Sammy, John William Wall and Ellery Paige Ellison.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Carole Ellison; daughter, Sharon Wall; and two brothers, Donald Clyde Ellison and Randal Clay Ellison.
