Xcel monitors fire risk in region

  • Dimmitt Bobcats Powerlifting competed at the THSPA Region 1 Division 3 Powerlifting Meet on March 8 in Brownfield. Three team members qualified to compete at state (right) including Dallas Starkey (2nd/wt. class 114), Arnoldo Ogaz (2nd/wt. class 165), and Ga’Quorie Chatham (2nd/wt. class 242). Other team members competing were Abrahm Chavez, Shaun Mick, Marco Silva and Angel Fuentes. The state meet will be held in Abilene on March 22.

    Xcel Energy is preparing for severe weather and wildfire risk with predictions of high wind speeds and low relativity in the forecast for the service area.Due to excessively dry conditions and large amounts of fuel, wildfire risk will increase across the region, and is expected to peak on Friday, March 14.
