Samuel Albracht

Samuel Albracht, 91, of Nazareth, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Dimmitt, Texas.

Sam was born on October 14, 1934, in Nazareth to WJ Albracht and Irene Hoelting. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1953. He attended St. Edwards University in Austin for one year before being drafted into the Army where he served for two years. Sam then settled in Nazareth in 1960 where he worked as a dairy farmer until 1997. He married Margie Schacher in 1962 and raised five children.

Sam was a devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He taught CCD for many years and was also a lector. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and helped at the Holy Family Food Pantry.

In his younger years, Sam frequently played golf at Dimmitt and Hereford. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, doing the daily crossword puzzle, cheering for the New York Yankees and drinking Johnny Walker Red.

Sam is preceded in death by his son Steven, his sister Gail, and his brother Fred.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 63 years, and his children Chris and Anna Albracht of Amarillo, his daughter-in-law Sheryl of Hart, Liz and Pascual Hernandez of Sonora, Dale and Tami Albracht of Lubbock, Cindy and Scott Huseman of Nazareth, 14 grandchildren and four, soon to be five great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 22, at Holy Family Catholic Church with the funeral mass being celebrated by Father Arokiaraj “Raj” Samala at 10:30 A.M.
