Jan Glenn 1942-2025

Jan, known affectionately as “Meme” and “Sissy,” Glenn, age 83, formerly of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025, in Hereford. The arrangements and services are being entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas with Dr. Jonathan Sullivan and Dr. Nathan Adams officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jan was born on May 13, 1942, in Borger, Texas, to Donald E. and Esther (Stark) Haslam. She graduated from Pampa High School and continued her education at West Texas State University. Throughout her career, Jan held several positions in the real estate industry for many years. She later transitioned into the oil and gas industry and banking before retiring in 2014. Jan was an inspiration to everyone she met, known for her kindness and generosity. Her life was forever changed with the birth of her only granddaughter, Baylee, in 1999. Jan’s devotion to Baylee was evident; she never missed any of Baylee’s activities, from Kids Inc. events to high school basketball and volleyball games, as well as stock shows, both local and major ones in Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio. She was always present, cheering as Baylee’s biggest fan. Jan was known for her love of engaging conversation, which could last for hours. She never met a stranger and was described as personable and loving by everyone who met her. After retiring, she joined her son and daughter-in-law’s business at Colonial Funeral Home, where she continued to meet and greet people with her trademark smile and welcoming heart. Jan was an avid sports fan, especially fond of football and basketball, cheering for the “Red Raiders.” Golf was another passion she enjoyed for many years and was a big part of her and Bill’s life. Although Jan’s health kept her from attending church, her strong faith and unwavering spiritual commitment remained a guiding force throughout her life. She found comfort and strength in her beliefs, which she shared with her family and friends, offering encouragement and hope even during challenging times.

Jan’s memory will be cherished forever by her son, Mike Mullins and his wife Eva of Hereford, Texas; her granddaughter, Baylee Harlow and her husband Kinder of Lubbock; her sister, Martha “Punky” Everett and her husband Brad of Frisco; her niece Ashley Lopez and her husband Marco of Prosper; and her two great nephews, Cole and Hudson McCaffrey, both of Prosper. Jan is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill Glenn.
