Diann Leatherwood was born on Jan. 1, 1947, in Shamrock, Texas to Charles Stoner and Dorothy (Seymour) Stoner. Diann graduated from Roosevelt High School and then married Guy Leatherwood on Feb. 24, 1966, at the Roosevelt Baptist Church in Lubbock. She was a longtime resident of Dimmitt, Texas and was a librarian for Richardson Elementary School up until her retirement. She also served the Dimmitt community by delivering commodities.

Diann loved to read and was most fond of the “Daniel Steele” novels, while also making crafts, jewelry and baking. But most of all, she will be remembered by being a good wife to Guy Leatherwood, spending time with her grandchildren and never missing any of their activities and the love she had for her dogs, Bailey and Brady.

Diann is survived by her daughters, Tammy Smith of Lubbock, and Shayna Gupton and husband Kenny of Canyon; eight grandchildren, Kaileh Gupton, Britnee Farley, Stormy Wallace, Hagen Gupton, Skylar Smith, Lexi Gupton and Slayde Smith, and Kati Morrison; four great-grandchildren, Kinsly Farrell, Dylan Wallace, Raegen Calloway, and Sabiree Farrell; and one sister, Jessie Morren of Lubbock.

She is preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Guy Leatherwood; and son, Garry Leatherwood.
