Manuel M. Sanchez Jr., 88 of Hart, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, at his home, in Hart, Texas. Rosary will be said at 6p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, in Hart. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, with Fr. David Contreras officiating. Interment will follow at Hart Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, at Ramage Funeral Directors in Olton.

Manuel was born April 10, 1936, in Brackettville, Texas, to Manuel and Caterina (Martinez) Sanchez. On May 21, 1967, Manuel married Juanita Alcala and they made their home in Hart for the next 57 years. Manuel worked as a supervisor at Excel in Plainview, Texas, for over 35 years. A talented guitarist, Manuel played guitar at the church for over 30 years. He was well-known at area Catholic Churches where he played many funeral masses. Manuel was very outspoken and didn’t have a problem telling you what he thought. He was a former board member of the St. John’s Church Council and a good provider for his family. He loved to fish and barbecue his “special ribs” with his family. A loving father, husband, and grandfather, Manuel was loved by all and will be missed.

Manuel is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Caterina Sanchez; four brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Sanchez of Hart; daughter, Monica Sanchez and husband Ramiro Rivas of Hart; a sister, Elena Martinez of Hart; and his dog, Scarface. He was blessed with six grandchildren, Mauricio Sanchez, Manuel Lujan, Estreya Hernandez, Adriel Hernandez, Marybelle Sanchez, and Joseph
