Newspapers across the nation are reacting to a police raid on a small-town Kansas newspaper, which is prompting a major First Amendment fight. The Marion County Record was raided by Marion Police Department, which confiscated computers, cell phones and a vast range of other reporting materials.

Passengers deal with over booked flights

Traveling by air has become more expensive and a greater challenge these days, from booking a flight and getting to the airport, checking in, boarding the plane, layovers and finally getting luggage on arrival.

Do you think money makes people happy? Maybe not, but it gives them lots more ways to battle sadness. The other day I drove to a fancy neighborhood, and surveyed residents about the good and bad sides of money. I got great response before the security guard tossed me and my dog out.

What is legal plunder? A few observations can make it crystal clear. First, see if the law takes from one person what belongs to them and gives it to other people to whom it doesn’t belong. If a law benefits one person at the expense of another, there is a high probability it is legal plunder.

First Dates

A young neighbor just asked me if I remembered dating. I have been married for years, but I recall the excitement of first dates. I had many of them because few ladies went out with me a second time. I suggested choosing a good dinner location, something many ladies appreciate.
The final Terrific Tuesday was held at Rhoads Memorial Library with a “visit” to Egypt. Spencer Acker read a book to attendees, built pyramids out of cups, enjoyed dole whip cups for snacks. Terrific Tuesday was led by Felice Acker, Castro County Extension Agent and brought activities to local youth throughout the summer with the assistance of teen helpers.
