Caprock Classic kicks off on Dec. 28

It is that time of year again for the 64th AMBUCS Caprock Classic Basketball Tournament, the world’s largest high school tournament. The Dimmitt Bobbies and Bobcats will both be playing in the tournament which is presented by CanTex.

Naz set to play in holiday tourneys

The Nazareth Swifts and Swiftettes will be traveling to participate in two different holiday tournaments. The Swiftettes are bound for the 66thAnnual Championship Basketball Tourney, considered one of the top five holiday tournaments in the nation, scheduled for Dec. 28-30 in the Fort Worth area.

Bobcats fall to Golden Tornados

The Dimmitt Bobcats lost to the Lamesa Golden Tornados, 69-52. Dimmitt edged into the lead by a single point in the first quarter 20-19 and continued to widen their lead to 39-31 as the first half of the game came to an end.

Bobcats press on into season

The Dimmitt Bobcats won one and lost three against Farwell, Slaton, Borger and Dumas. Bobcats v Farwell The Bobcats were defeated 55-40 by the Farwell Steers.

Bobbies defeated by Lady Cubs, 43-40

The Dimmitt Bobbies suffered a narrow defeat by the Brownfield Lady Cubs, 43-40. Brownfield took the lead in the first quarter, 21-13, but both teams scored evenly in the second quarter, closing the first half out with a Lady Cubs lead 32-24.

WTAMU marching band advances to finals in Metallica Contest

The West Texas A&M University marching band has advanced to the finals of metal band Metallica’s “For Whom the Band Tolls” contest. Bands from around the country are competing to win musical instruments for their programs, furnished by Metallica and its sponsors.

Swifts defeat Flames, 75-36

The Nazareth Swifts claimed a big victory over the Amarillo Flames, 75-36. The Swifts took charge in the first quarter, gaining a 21-9 lead and continued to out-shoot the Flames in the second quarter closing the first half ahead 37-20.

The Nazareth Swifts claimed a victory over the Dimmitt Bobcats, 48-37.

Bobbies drop three games at tournament

The Dimmitt Bobbies played three games at the Dimmitt basketball tourney against Lubbock Cooper, Amarillo High JV and Bushland. Bobbies v Lbbk Cooper The Bobbies fell to Lubbock Cooper, 27-59. Lubbock claimed the lead in the first half, 25-10 and held on in the second half for the win.
