Bobcats lose to Chieftains

The Dimmitt Bobcats fell to the Friona Chieftans in a well-fought battle, 51-44.
The Chieftans took the lead in the first quarter, 20-9, with the Bobcats overtaking Friona in the second quarter and pushing out ahead to close the first half 28-26.

The Dimmitt Police Department helped with a sendoff for group of young Dimmitt basketball players and their coaches for a trip to Denver, Colorado for a basketball tournament. After the boys played, they had the opportunity sit on the Denver Nuggets’ bench and interact with players as they warmed up for the Nuggets vs Hornets game.
WTAMU adds new benefit for employees

A new benefit for West Texas A&M University staff members will offer employees the chance to make an impact on their community.
According to a Jan. 2 memo from WT President Walter V. Wendler, all full-time, non-faculty staff members will be allowed eight hours a year for a service day off.

The Swifts pushed out ahead in the first quarter, 19-9, and the Lynx battled to close the lead in the second quarter, with the first half ending with a Swifts’ lead 23- 17.
