Thanks to the Texas Legislature, Senate Concurrent Resolution 38 was passed by both the House and Senate and has designated the first Friday of November as Texas High School Coaches Day. High school and middle school coaches all over Texas will be celebrated on Nov.

Whitharral, a UIL 6-man division II school, is ranked seventh in their division by Max-Preps. Nazareth gave the Panthers all they wanted, but five turnovers against two for Whitharral hurt the Swifts. Nazareth fell behind in the second quarter and couldn’t catch up.

In their homecoming game bout against the Highland Park Hornets, the Dimmitt Bobcats lost by a mere two points, 4745. Bobcats Tony Salazar scored the first touch of the game on a 55-yard run in the first quarter.

Naz FFA to hold lamb jackpot, clinic

The Nazareth FFA will be holding its Lamb Jackpot and Clinic on Oct. 19. The event is limited to FFA and 4-H members. The scales will open at 7:30 a.m. and weight cards are due by 9 a.m. The clinic will be from 9 to 10 a.m. with showmanship classes for junior, intermediate and senior participants.
