The West Texas A&M University ranch horse team won its first-ever world championship at a recent contest in Abilene. The team includes Ilda Corrales from Dimmitt.

The Dimmitt Bobcats suffered a tough loss to the Childress Bobcats on Friday, 65-7. Dimmitt had a single touchdown in the first quarter on a Blake Howell 1-yard run, with the extra point on a kick by Diego Santello.

Bobcats defeat Hornets, 43-27

The Dimmitt Bobcats came through with a big win over the Tulia Hornets last Friday, 43-27. As the first quarter got underway, Tulia got on the scoreboard first, taking the lead, but Dimmitt’s Diego Santellano scored on a 69yard punt return to tie the game, 7-7.

WTAMU soil judging team headed for nationals, including team member Dayson Schacher from Nazareth who ranked sixth overall. The WTAMU team placed second in the Region IV Collegiate Soil Judging competition held Oct. 16 to 20 in Lubbock. WTAMU outranked No. 3 Texas A&M University and just behind the winner, the University of Arkansas.
