Warm, dry weather urges Wildfire Safety

Warm, dry weather urges Wildfire Safety

Elevated fire weather conditions exist across the Texas Panhandles due to unusually warm weather, dry air and strong southwesterly winds. This will create an environment where wildfires can spark easily and spread rapidly.
The Swisher Briscoe retired teacher personnel had a meeting on Monday, January 5. Upcoming events were announced. Gwen Shannon gave reports on retired teacher benefit accounts. She also gave a health update and told advantages of certain vaccines. Member volunteer hours are due by the end of February. The next scheduled meeting will be February 2 at the El Camino dining room.

Tom Sell, Republican candidate for the US House District 19, was in Tulia on Monday, January 5th. Sell is a former chief of staff for Congressman Larry Combest. Since that time he has been involved in agricultural policy as a partner in Combest Sell & Associates.
