Registration for the City of Dimmitt urgent notifications system is now under way and available at no cost to local residents.

According to City Manager Daniel Jackson, the city has partnered with CivicReady to implement its mass notification solution. The CivicReady solution will allow the city to issue urgent notifications, emergency instructions, warnings, and routine communications to subscribed citizens via email, text message, and voicemail alert, to keep citizens safe and informed.

In the event of a local emergency, residents subscribed to CivicReady will benefit from immediate, actionable information and instructions sent via their preferred notification channel.

Jackson said some possible examples of emergency alerts issued would be emergency instructions involving public safety, water outages, boil water notices, power outages and weather-related warnings. Routine communications might include utility billing reminders and community events.

According to Jackson, sign-up is easy. Simply go https://dimmitt-tx.myfreeal erts.com/ and enter contact information and updated alerts will be sent through email, voice, or text.

Modifications to the alerts can be made at any time after signing up.

“Please make sure to complete all registration steps,” said Jackson. “You should receive confirmation of successful registration. There is a mobile app available, but app download IS not required for registration or to receive notifications. This service is free to the public and you do not have to reside in the city limits to sign-up. Our goal is to keep our community safe and informed”
