The Dimmitt High School One Act Play (OAP) cast, directors and stage/tech crew won another “Advancing Play” in the UIL bi-district competition with their performance of “Her Senior Year” in El Paso and set to compete at Area on Wednesday in Seminole. The play was written by Codee Moore.
Thus far DHS OAP have won third (Advanced) in District in Denver City, with Delia Vargas earning the Best Per formance Award, Maria Bernal, All Star Crew Award and William Van Zee, Honorable Mention Award.
The OAP group made the trip to the Bi-district contest in El Paso and snagged a second place (Advanced), with Delia Vargas bringing home the All Star Cast Award, and Magdalyn Chavez and Will Van Zee, Honorable Mention Awards.
Stepping into the Area competition on Wednesday, DHS OAP joins Denver City,
Lamesa, Shallowater, Canadian and Lubbock Roosevelt in the competition with performances beginning at 1 p.m. at Seminole High School.
DHS OAP directors are Laura Rodriguez, Karlee Gluszek and Crystal Nino.

The DHS OAP cast and crew will be presenting “Her Senior Year” to the public on April 6. To be held at Dimmitt Middle School auditorium, a “Meet the Cast” will begin at 6 p.m., and the performance starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.
