The Castro County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 12, executed a State of Texas search warrant and found drugs resulting in the arrest of Vincent John Padilla.

The search occurred at the 900 block of Ave B in Hart, Texas.

According to Sheriff Sal Rivera, the search by Sheriff’s Office investigators resulted in a quantity of methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as a 22-caliber rifle, surveillance cameras and drug paraphernalia.

Rivera said an investigation was started when Sheriff’s Office investigators received information that Padilla was trafficking in methamphetamine in the Hart area.

Padilla was convicted this year for an arrest stemming back to August 2020. He is currently on community supervision for that charge.

“This individual has continued his trafficking activities and continues to sell his poison to persons in our communities,” said Sheriff Rivera. “We are not going to standby and let these individuals do this. We will continue to come after those who want to peddle their poison in our county.”

Padilla was charged with two counts of manufacture/deliver a controlled substance PG 1 over 4 grams-under 200 grams – methamphetamine, and manufacture/deliver a controlled substance PG 1 over 4 grams-under 200 grams cocaine.

Padilla was booked into the Castro County Jail to await arraignment.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden.

“I want to commend the deputies who worked hard on this investigation and putting in the hours to stop this individual’s drug trafficking activities,” said Sheriff Rivera. “I also want to commend the deputies and Game Warden who assisted in the execution of the search warrant.”
