The Nazareth ISD National Honor Society held its annual banquet to honor current members and induct new applicants.

To be a member, students sent in an application outlining their involvement in the community and school and participate in an interview with Nazareth ISD staff.

The banquet was held in the Nazareth ISD cafeteria, where attendees were served a Tex-Mex meal and cheesecake.

Dana Stanfield, the NHS coordinator welcomed everyone to the event and discussed the importance of this organization. NHS officers Ryan Heitschmidt, president, Tye Schulte, vice president, Makenzy Corrales, secretary, and Tagan Ramsey, treasurer, each read a passage explaining the four pillars of the NHS which include scholarship, service, leadership and character.

As each officer read their passage, another would light one of four candles that had been placed on a table symbolizing that pillar.

Stanfield called up each of the new inductees, handed them a certificate, and had them light a candle, signifying their entrance into the NHS. All attending students then recited the NHS Creed, stating their dedication to the organization.
