Castro County 4-H competes at contests

The District 2 4-H Speaking and Talent contests were held on Monday.

Castro County youth came through with some solid wins.

“What a great day,” said Castro County AgriLife Extension Agent Felice Acker. “I am soooo proud of all of these youth for getting out and competing in front of others.”

Harrison Meador and Spencer Acker competed in Open Educational Presentation, winning first place to advance them to state in June.

Evelyn Farris won third place in Junior Public Speaking.

In the Junior Solo and Band Talent Showcase, Adalyn Braddock and Kesley Kleman won first place; Steely Moore won second place; and Kambyl McLarty won third. Also competing was Sawyer Gibson.

Winning the Junior Vocal Talent Showcase was Steely Moore, first place; and Kambyl McLarty, second place.

Sawyer Gibson and Quinlee Wheeler competed in the Junior Musical Showcase.
