Texas Comptroller Glen Hagar distributed $936 million in monthly sales tax allocations

Allocations include cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts for local sales tax for December bases on sales in October by businesses that report tax monthly.

Statewide, the sales tax allocation for December 2021 was 18.4 percent higher than the previous year.

Locally, Castro County received $18,067, up by 7.53%. The year-to-date figure for the county showed a gain of 0.01% over last year.

Dimmitt received $36,316, a gain of 14.40% over the same period in 2020, though the figures for year-to-date were down by -1.59% from last year.

Hart was way in allocations, receiving $5,269, a 37.54% increase over last year for this period, and the year-to-date ahead of 2020 by 38.04%.

Nazareth allocations for this period were down by -5.30%, receiving $3,611, but up by 51.49% for their year-to-date figure.

Overall Texas cities received $596.8 million, up by 16.9% from last year; transit systems, $204.1 million, up 19.6%; counties, $54.8 million, up 16.8%; and special purpose taxing districts, $80.3 million, an increase of 29.6%.
