Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1 billion in local sales tax allocations for March, 9.9 percent more than in March 2022.

These allocations are based on sales made in January by businesses that report tax monthly.

Locally, Castro County will receive $23,958, a 40% increase over 2022 which was $16,762.

The city of Dimmitt saw a slight increase over the same period last year, receiving $32,888, up by 4.19%.

Hart saw a significant change at 27.52% and will receive $6,084, and Nazareth saw a 2.71% increase and will receive $3,657.

Across the state, cities received $633.2 million, up by 8.9%; transit systems, $215.7 million, up by 8.3%; counties, $62.1 million, up 13.5%; special purpose districts, $92.4 million, up 15.5% Sales tax allocation comparison summary reports present data on monthly local sales and use tax payments to local jurisdictions.
