Covid-19 has made many feel like prisoners in their own homes.
Forced to isolate, they can identify with lawbreakers serving time under house arrest orders. Things have opened up to a large extent but with new outbreaks stay at home mandates might return. What's it like to be home-bound? Apostle Paul had firsthand experience.
In Rome, he was held prisoner under house arrest.
“When we entered Rome, Paul was allowed to stay by himself, with the so ldier who was guarding him (Acts 28:16 NASB).”
Paul didn't throw a pity party; instead; he entertained visitors and proclaimed the gospel.
“When they had set a day for Paul, they came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly testifying about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening. Some were being persuaded by the things spoken, but others would not believe (Acts 28:23-24 NASB).”
Apostle Paul seized the opportunities.
“And he stayed two full years in his own rented quarters and was welcoming all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching concern ing the Lord Jesus Christ with all openness, unhindered (Acts 28:30-31 NASB).”
