Work on a $383,000 Texas Department of Transportation project to add rumble strips and striping to FM 1585 in Lubbock and Hockley counties and SH 194 in Castro County was scheduled to begin June 14.
Contractor L&L Company, from Gardendale, Texas, will start work along FM 1585 in Lubbock County.
“This is a slow-moving mobile operation, and no lane closure are planned during this work,” said Jeremy Dearing, P.E., TxDOT traffic engineer. “But drivers still need to use caution when approaching the work crews, stay alert and, if they must, pass with caution.”
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to slow down and drive with caution through the work zone for their safety and the safety of the workers. Work is expected to wrap up at the end of August and will take place weather permitting.
