Power of Free Will

And it was of His own [free] will that He gave us birth [as sons] by [His] Word of Truth, so that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures [a sample of what He created to be consecrated to Himself].James 1:18,

God has a free will. He created us to be like Him, so He gave us a free will. We can choose to worship and live for Him--or not.

He even gave the holy angels a free will. One third of them used their free will to betray the LORD Jehovah, and revolt against Him.

So, when we choose to revolt against the LORD, we are choosing wrongly.

But when we humble ourselves and ask the LORD to help us follow Him, He does. He is faithful!

For if I do this work of my own free will, then I have my pay (my reward); but if it is not of my own will, but is done reluctantly and under compulsion, I am [still] entrusted with a [sacred] trusteeship and commission. I Corinthians 9:17

One person and one decision can change the world! You can probably think of many people through history (starting with Adam, through the current leaders of any nation) who have been very influential, and whose decisions have greatly affected the world--for good or bad.

Romans 5:19 is one place this is shown: For just as by one man’s disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) the many were constituted sinners, so by one Man’s obedience the many will be constituted righteous (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him).

Did you know that you have a lot of power, every day? One smile from you; one kind word; one thoughtful deed, can make the difference in whether someone lives or dies, or even decides to give something one more shot--whether it's their marriage, their job, their calling from God, etc.!

Your good choices are needed, every day.You are very important to God.

Sometimes you ask God to guide you, then doubt that you are hearing from Him. Our minds and souls (will and emotions) want to know that everything is perfect.

There is nothing perfect, except God and His love for us! So, we must learn to trust that, when we truly want Him to lead us and ask Him to, that He does! This is part of what "casting your cares on the LORD" means--that He will do His Word; He will do what we ask, when it agrees with His will.

It is our good, good Father God's will for us to understand what He wants for our lives, and to be guided by Him. He is the Spirit of Truth Who leads us into all truth. Hallelujah!

But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]. John 16:13

He does have "The Perfect Plan" laid out for us.

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), a]">[a]recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. Ephesians 2:10

Ask Him today to guide you, to take you deeper with Him, and to trust and rest that He is and will lead you into your best life yet, to His glory and your success. (Nehemiah 2:20)
