Castro County Sheriff’s Office Persons Arrested & Booked into Jail May 27 to June 13

All information of persons arrested and booked into the Castro County Jail are open records:

May 27

Atev La Naee Van Zandt, 30 of Amarillo, was arrested by the Dimmitt Police for Fail to Identify Fugitive from Justice and on two warrants for DWI and Robbery.

John David Snapp, 44 of Roaring Springs, was arrested by the Dimmitt Police for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 over 1 gram-under 4 grams; Unlawful Carrying a Weapon; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

May 29

Noel Silva Jr., 22, of Dimmitt was arrested by the Dimmitt Police on two Deaf Smith County warrants for Evading Arrest or Detention with Vehicle and Accident Involving Injury.

Mitchell Craig Kalm, 62,of Dimmitt, was arrested by the Dimmitt Police for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 over 1 gramunder 4 grams; Tampering with Physical Evidence; and Traffic Violations.

June 1

Carrie Marie Benevidez, 39 of Morton, was booked into jail for out of county inmate housing for Cochran County.

Pedro Soliz, 42 of Morton, was booked into jail for out of county inmate housing for Cochran County.

Refugio Renteria, 34 of Sudan, was booked into jail for out of county inmate housing for Cochran County.

Jose Andres Romero, 24 of Morton, was booked into jail for out of county inmate housing for Cochran County.

Martin Julian Pacheco, 40 of El Paso, was booked into jail for out of county inmate housing for Cochran County.

June 8

Venissa Davila, 28 of Hart, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on a Castro County warrant for Criminal Trespass of a Habitation and on-site for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 under 1 gram.

June 11

Deanna Birdwell, 55 of Dimmitt, was arrested by the Dimmitt Police for No Driver’s License; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and No Liability Insurance.

June 12

Lucedo Escalona, 22 of Dimmitt, was arrested by the Sheriff’s Office on a Castro County warrant for Driving While Intoxicated.

June 13

Bertin Guzman, 39 of Hereford, was arrested by the Dimmitt Police for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 under 1 gram and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

CASTRO COUNTY COURT Mandy Gfeller, presiding judge

Judgments for April 19: Salvador Garcia Avila, 43 of Dimmitt, pleaded guilty to the charge of Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense. His plea of guilt was set aside, and he was placed on one (1) year of Deferred Adjudication probation, $700 fine; $405 court costs; and $100 food donation to the Helping Hands Ministry in lieu of Community Service hours.

Gabby Silva, 21 of Dimmitt, pleaded guilty to the charge of Criminal Trespass Habitation. She was given credit for time served, $335 court costs and $100 Attorney Fees.

Judgments for May 24: Ubaldo Diaz Reyes, 43 of Dimmitt, pleaded guilty to the offense of Driving While Intoxicated with B.A.C. over 0.15. He was given credit for time he has already served in jail. He was ordered to pay a fine of $100 and court costs of $435 in addition to restitution to the Texas DPS Crime Lab in the amount of $60.

Lindsey Nicole Mercer, 35 of Lubbock, pleaded guilty to the offense of Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense. She was given credit for time already served in jail. She was ordered to pay a $500 fine and $390 in court costs.

64th DISTRICT COURT Danah Ziropoli, presiding judge

Judgments for May 4: Ronald Joseph Lucero, 40 of Hereford, pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 over 1 gram-under 4 grams. He was sentenced to seven (7) years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division, plus a $2000 fine and $355 in court costs.

Judgments for June 1: John Christopher Castro, 36 of Dimmitt, pleaded guilty to the offense of Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant. He was sentenced to ten (10) years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division, plus fines, court costs and Attorney Fees.

242nd DISTRICT COURT Kregg Hukill, presiding judge

Judgments for May 8: David Cordova, 53 of Clovis, New Mexico, pleaded guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 over 1 gram-under 4 grams. He was sentenced to five (5) years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division, plus fines, court costs and Attorney Fees.
