Dr. Stanley Schaeffer, former resident and businessman from Dimmitt for 48 years, will be honored at the Fall Gather at WTAMU and recognized for his decades of leadership and support of WTAMU and the Texas Panhandle agriculture industry.
The Texas Workforce Commission in a press release stated that Texas had 14.3 million total nonfarm jobs after adding 8,700 positions over the month of July.
Over the year, the state added 232,500 jobs for an annual nonfarm growth rate of 1.6 percent, outpacing the national growth rate by 0.6 percentage points.
