Think before you leap

Let’s get straight to it. We do not live in a ‘what-you-see-is-what-you-get’ world. The world we live in is a ‘you-get-what-you-don’t-see’ reality. What this means is that human livelihood on our planet is determined by what takes place in the unseen realm and we, unwittingly, conduct ourselves in accordance to what is deliberated in the unseen realm. Why is this so?

We all (should) know about “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” as expounded in the first book of the Bible. We all have the knowledge of good and evil as a result of the fruit of that tree having been eaten on our behalf by both Adam and Eve, “because she was the mother of all living.” (Gen. 3:20)

Before the fruit of that tree was partaken of only the “knowledge of good” existed in the heart of man and it was intended to remain so. The fact that the “knowledge of evil” was added when the fruit was eaten opened the right for the evil side of the unseen realm to add its voice to the voice of the good side already at work in the human spirit.

From that moment forward the human race has had two conflicting ‘sets of rules’ embedded in its make-up to determine what to say and do. Our everyday walk in life is being dictated to by the evil side of the spiritual realm while the good side of the spiritual realm allows us to decide between the two because of our God-given right to use our freedom of choice, that is, our free will.

We also need to understand that the good side affords us protection based on our knowledge of what the good side stands for. This means that if we are ignorant of God’s word then we will also be ignorant of the evil side’s devices and will lean towards the latter’s overbearing manner of intrusion and dictation in the use of our free will in the course of our behavior in life.

There is one thing that we should be clear about; we are under bombardment 24/7 by the evil side to steal, kill and destroy and this is being hammered into our thought life so as to counter the good side’s will for us to have love, peace and joy - in abundance. (John 10:10)

The history of mankind reveals the devastation caused by the evil side’s dictation to the human race to the point where, today, we are on the brink of self-destruction, which also means that we are at the end of God’s timeline to get to know Him. “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;” (2 Thess. 1:7-9)
