Wild west show set June 2-3

The Olen Schulte Memorial Team Roping and Wild West Show is on the calendar for June 2-3.

Books for the Wild West Show events open on Monday, May 1.

Wild West Show events include double muggin’, team roping, breakaway roping, calf scramble, wild cow milking, steer riding, barrel racing, wild mare race, bath/hide race and more.

Wild West Show prizes include ribbons and belt buckles for various events, as well as great payouts for the memorial roping.

The event’s mission is to preserve the cowboy heritage and fund scholarships for area youth. Applications for OSM scholarships can found on the event Facebook page (www.facebook. com/olenschultememorial/) and are open to any college student. The deadline to apply is May 1.

There will be a concession stand for food and a rodeo dance on Saturday following the Wild West Show with live music.

The event will be held at Marvin Schulte’s Arena, 5 miles east of Nazareth behind Elmer’s Package Store at 2995 Hwy. 86, Tulia.
